Apr. 8th, 2005 04:17 amOn Monday night, I was going back to my mum's after having spent the weekend seeing various people (will avoid usertag-fest here). It's rare that I get to spend time with so many of my favourite people in one go, and it had been an excellent few days anyway...this to me rounded it all off perfectly:
I'd been travelling on the Jubilee line from Waterloo to Stratford, which as most of you know, is the last stop. At West Ham, the stop before last, the other remaining passengers got off and I was all alone in the carriage. I'd been listening to Jeff Buckley, and "Hallelujah" started just as everyone else got off. I am always so moved by that song, and I took the opportunity to sing along as loudly as I wanted - it didn't matter that it probably didn't sound very good, because I was singing with a full heart and nobody else could hear me.
Usually my physical location bears no relation to where I am in my own universe. When they are the same, it's so utterly beautiful and just for a short time I feel very much at peace. I never expected to have one of those moments in an empty Jubilee line carriage, but there it was, and I am grateful for it.

Details here, about why boycotting Allycat Metalware is a good idea.
EDIT: the link is now friends-only, apparently, so here's a summary of the details, half-inched from
hsw.
Summary - A friend created all the fabulous Allycat designs. Her ex did the fabricating. They got a spot in Cyberdog.
They split up, and Ex would not give up rights to designs. With no written contract, Friend walked and has now set up a new company to do her latest designs. Unfortunately, being short on workshop space, they had to use Ex's workshop, and he has rushed out a new line that is available in Cyberdog right now, and is blatently plagiarised from friend's work. No proof, as they don't have dated designs.
Please don't buy from Alleycat, use Freaky Z Designs instead.
